Mission
The CrossLink Application is a specialized AI tool designed to solve the "transfer problem" in education by breaking down the silos between isolated subjects. It empowers educators to identify authentic, research-backed intersections between disciplines, helping students build a coherent, interconnected worldview where skills learned in one domain deepen understanding in another.
Underlying Technology
This application operates on a dual-engine architecture to ensure both pedagogical quality and structural alignment:
Reasoning Engine (Google Gemini Flash Latest): The curriculum analysis and interdisciplinary bridging are powered by Google’s latest Gemini Flash model. This model was selected for its superior ability to identify deep structural and cognitive connections between disparate subjects, moving beyond superficial keyword matching to find shared logic and processes.
Framework Integration: Unlike standard chatbots, this tool is grounded in specific educational frameworks. It cross-references user inputs against NGSS Crosscutting Concepts for structural alignment, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for civic relevance, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles for accessibility.
Pedagogical Logic: "Developmental Filtering"
We recognize that a connection valid for a high schooler is often inappropriate for a first grader. Therefore, this tool is programmed with a strict 5-Dimensional Scaffold protocol:
Developmental Scaling: The system utilizes a proprietary filter that adjusts the complexity of the lesson based on the user's selected grade level. It automatically shifts the cognitive demand (e.g., from sensory/concrete tasks for K-2 to abstract/synthesis tasks for High School).
Classroom-First Design: We prioritize equity of access. The AI is instructed to design the core interdisciplinary activity so that it is fully executable within a standard classroom using simulations, data sets, or hands-on making, without requiring external field trips or complex logistics.
Commitment to Educators
This tool adheres to three core principles:
Academic Integrity: We prioritize connections that deepen learning in both subjects equitably, avoiding activities where one subject is superficial.
Feasibility: We prioritize lessons that are rigorous yet usable immediately, minimizing prep time and resource requirements.
Privacy: User inputs (subjects, standards, and topics) are processed transiently for the purpose of generating the lesson. We do not store your search history or build profiles on students or schools.
